CAPCRETE provides durable, low-maintenance polished concrete flooring through a precise grinding and polishing process. Using the most suitable materials for each project, we enhance strength, stain resistance, and aesthetic appeal. Ideal for commercial, industrial, and multi-level residential spaces, polished concrete floors deliver long-lasting performance across Ontario.
What is Polished Concrete?
Polished concrete is achieved through a multi-step mechanical process that involves grinding, honing, and polishing the concrete surface with bonded abrasives to create the desired level of sheen or gloss. The process starts with floor preparation, which includes inspection, hardness testing (minimum 4,000 psi), and debris removal.
Initial grinding with low-grit diamonds (16- to 20-grit) ensures a level surface, followed by crack repair and densification, strengthening the concrete to 32–40 MPa for increased durability and resistance. Once hardened, the floor is honed with finer abrasives (200- to 400-grit resin) and polished to the chosen finish—matte, satin, semi-gloss, or high-gloss—each offering different levels of reflectivity and aesthetic appeal.

Why is Polished Concrete Essential?
Polished concrete is a durable, low-maintenance flooring solution ideal for high-traffic commercial, industrial, and multi-level residential spaces. The densification and polishing process enhances strength, stain resistance, and longevity, eliminating the need for wax or coatings. Its seamless, dust-resistant surface improves indoor air quality and reduces maintenance costs. Available in matte, satin, semi-gloss, or high-gloss finishes, polished concrete offers both functional durability and aesthetic versatility, making it a preferred choice for modern flooring.
Our Process
-
Assessment
We inspect the floor and conduct hardness testing (4,000 psi minimum) to determine the best approach for durability and finish.
-
Preparation
The surface is cleaned, leveled with low-grit grinding (16- to 20-grit), and densified to 32–40 MPa for added strength. Cracks and imperfections are repaired.
-
Application
Using progressively finer abrasives (200- to 400-grit resin), the surface is honed and refined, ensuring smoothness and durability.
-
Finishing Touches
The concrete is polished to the selected matte, satin, semi-gloss, or high-gloss finish, creating a long-lasting, low-maintenance surface.
